Apples, apples and more apples

Apples, apples and more apples

I was really hoping that I would get a store full of apples (after my comment on AM1410) but not to be, so I guess I to will have to head to the local produce market to stock up as well.

Here are some of my favourites…..

  • Gala: mild, sweet taste and crisp texture. Great snack for kids and cook well
  • Granny Smith: bright green skin, hard feel and crisp bite. Can be extremely tart. Great compliment to savoury foods such as onions and salty such as cheese.
  • Braeburn: has a balance between sweetness and tartness and makes a great baking apple
  • Fuji: large crisp apple with an intense sweetness, best raw in salads, coleslaw’s etc.
